See you later doesn't mean goodbye
The name's Jessie and is currently a Year 3 student at Dunman High School.I'm in DHSBT and DHSSC, and also in 3Mickey'09. Lectra'07'08 is the best class ever and I still miss them. I like songs (nice ones) and books (nice books especially by Jodi Picoult). Strawberry milk and pasta salad are nice, but apples are even nicer! Script-writing and story writing are some of the things which I like doing. Planning to go to Cambridge or Warwick (if possible). If not, I'll stay in Singapore and do a double degree! |

It's going to be a tough time.
Status: Thinking about loads of things.Mood: HMMMMM. Despair. That's what many of us immediately when we think of our GPA. Yes, that's right. It's already week 8 going on week 9. CA1 is close to over. And here comes all the GPA calculating and depression periods and eyeing the contrast between two different people who obviously have different grades for a subject. When everyone in your class seems to get higher than you for a subject, or when everyone in your class gets higher than you in terms of GPA, you'll start panicking and maybe go into depression. (okay, maybe this is too much of an exaggeration. But it's somewhat true.) I didn't go into depression, but I'm panicking a little. This is called peer pressure (in a way). Society has been conditioned to be like this. Once the people around you start to have super high GPAs and score A+ for almost all their subjects, you will be subjugated to pressure. Then you'll start to feel that whatever grade you have gotten before is horrendous. When in fact, it is already considered quite good. Truth to be told, I'm pretty disappointed in myself. But since I have so many things going on for the whole of term 1 and 2, I was sort of mentally prepared for it. But I'm still disappointed. I know many Dunmanians are now rather upset about their own GPAs.. but don't be discouraged! You can still work hard for the next semester, and CA1 is after all only 30% of the whole year. It's still a minority. Jiayou! |
